Proper Conduct Inside the Library

To maintain a quiet, orderly, clean, and conducive environment for study, research, and learning, all library users are expected to observe the following rules:

1. Maintain Silence and Order. Idle conversations, loud laughter, and other unnecessary noise that may disturb other library users are prohibited. Necessary conversations should be conducted in subdued voices.

1. No Food and Drinks Inside. Food and beverages, including covered drinks, are not permitted in the library’s reading areas, study areas, or discussion rooms.

1. Prohibited Activities. Eating, smoking, vaping, and sleeping are not permitted inside the library, except for brief naps when necessary. Playing online games is strictly prohibited in the Library Online Research Zone.

1. Proper Use of Electronic Devices. Cellular phones, laptops, tablets, and music players are permitted in the library, provided that they are kept on silent mode and used responsibly without disturbing other library users.

1. Phone Calls. Urgent or necessary phone calls should be made or received outside the library to avoid disturbing other users.

1. Practice Courtesy and Respect. All library users are expected to observe proper courtesy and respect toward library personnel and fellow users, particularly when borrowing, returning, or requesting library materials and services.

1. Disciplinary Action. Violations of library rules may be referred to the Office of Student Affairs for appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with existing institutional policies.

1. Maintain a Conducive Learning Environment. The SICC Library is a place for study, research, and learning. All library users are expected to help maintain a quiet, orderly, clean, and respectful environment conducive to academic activities. Their cooperation is highly appreciated.
