 Circulation Services  

The Library and Information Center is primarily intended to support the curricula, administrative and other information needs of the faculty, students and staff of Samal Island City College (SICC). In support of SICC’s Library vision-mission “to promote reading, scholarship, and lifelong learning to enrich Samal Island’s academic and community life, the center provides users with the services essential to identifying and accessing information.


A.    Mission Statement

The Circulation oversees the lending, shelving, maintenance, and retrieval of the library’s resources. This service aims to provide an effective and efficient circulation process of its library resources borrowed by the qualified users from the registration of users, to the issuance of items to be borrowed, returning, and shelving, hence called circulation services. 


B.     Circulation Services, Policies and Procedures

Circulation conducts searches for items missing on the shelves, sets up areas for special use, and organizes and lends materials on Course Reserves for classes. The Circulation, Loan, and other policies are formulated to ensure timely access to library resources by all users.

The Circulation/Reserve Desk handles all check-in and check-out services for circulating library books and faculty reserves in the SICC Follett Destiny Library Manager System (DLM system). A Librarian/library staff member is dedicated to providing helpful and friendly services to the clientele.
