Online Research Zone (ORZ) Service
The library and information center
provides facilities for information and communication technology and services
for the efficient and convenient retrieval and dissemination of local and
remote information resources to its clientele. The facilities include computer
desktops with internet connectivity, a printer/scanner.
The SICC Library and Information Center has a dedicated webpage created to promote and access library resources in an electronic library (e-Lib) named SICC eLibrary (sicclib.blogspot.com). A continuous access to electronic resources, such as online databases, e-books, ejournals, and other open and free e-learning resources, to allow faculty members and students to undertake research and other academic activities.
The policies and procedures in selecting, evaluating, and handling the content and use of e-resources are set that are made accessible on-site or remotely, in the main and off the campus. Library patrons should strictly follow the prescribed policies, rules, and regulations prescribed by the SICC Library.
Rules
& Regulations
1.
The
computer user must secure the User ID and password from the ORZ In-charge.
2.
A
student is given at least one hour to use the computer per day on a first come
first serve basis.
3.
Flash
media or USB of users must be scanned by the ORZ In-charge before using.
4.
Installing unauthorized programs and other similar acts on the computers is prohibited.
5.
The
Library Management reserves the right to regularly delete files from the system
and hard drives in the ORZ at the end of every semester, or in case of exigency.
6.
The
users are prohibited from unauthorized uses/activities, which include but are
not limited to the following:
A.
Computer games;
B.
Obscene/pornographic
materials;
C.
Computer viruses
or any form of intentionally destructive
programs;
D.
Modifying or
destroying library hardware,
software, or data, including display and desktop configurations;
7.
Any
problem encountered at the computer workstations must be reported immediately to
the ORZ In-charge or Librarians.
8.
Violation
of any of the rules and regulations will be recommended for sanctions appropriate
for serious offenses. Violations of the rules shall be meted out the following:
First offense - Oral warning
Second offense - Written warning
Third offense -
Endorse to the OSSD for appropriate action/sanction.
9.
Maintain
cleanliness at all times.
10.
Observe
silence at all times.
