Collaboration & Function Rooms Services and Policy
(Conference Room /Audio-Visual/Study Room/Faculty & Discussion Room)

The Library and Information Center (LIC) primarily intends to support the curricula, administrative, and other information needs of the faculty, students, and staff of Samal Island City College (SICC). In support of SICC’s LIC vision-mission “to promote reading, scholarship, and lifelong learning to enrich Samal Island’s academic and community life, the center provides users with the services essential to identifying and accessing information.

A.    Mission 

The collaboration & discussion rooms & services provide technologies and equipment such as a laptop, a Smart TV, and a projector to support the instructional and class activities of the College.


B.     Services and Technical Support

The function rooms provide materials/resources, facilities, equipment, services as well as technical support to teachers and students. These services are provided to make the learning interesting, interactive and to enhance the quality of teaching and learning activities of the college. The following resources and purposes are as follows:

Materials/Resources:

·         Smart TV

·         Charts

·         Posters

·         CD/DVDs/VCDs

·         Maps

·         Globes

·         Other Visual Aids

 

Purposes for which the request shall merit approval:

·         Film showing/viewing movies or educational videos, podcasts, etc.

·         Class presentations that would require the use of equipment and facilities

·         Workshops

·         Seminars

·         Research presentations

·         Thesis defense

·         Special events

·         Meetings

·         Other educational activities for classes and others in small groups.

The Conference Room and Faculty/Discussion Room are located on the 2nd floor, while the mini Audio-Visual and Study Rooms are located on the ground floor of the SICC Library Building.  


C.     Service Hours:       Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

D.    Reservation Process

The reservation slip must be filled out and processed at the Librarian’s Office.

·    Reservations can be made preferably two days before the scheduled activity on a first-come come first-served basis.  

·   The reservation slip must be duly signed by the Teacher/Class Adviser/Club Adviser, verified by the librarian, and approved by the Head Librarian.

·   Cancellation of the reservation should be made immediately. Inform the librarian if there are changes in the schedule of activities.

·    The library materials/resources are for library/classroom use only.

·  “Clean As You Go” (CLAYGO) should be observed at all times.

E. Rules & Regulations:

            ·   Foods and eating are discouraged inside (Except in the Faculty Room).

            ·   Observe a smoke/vape-free and drug-free library.
